Rodolphe

Rodolphe
has been inspired by the work of a genius calligrapher and type
designer named Rudolph Koch, who worked between 1914 and 1934 for the
Klingspor foundry, in Offenbach, Germany. Today, the foundry does not
produce fonts anymore, but offers a very nice museum.
Willegha

When I was
a kid, I learned the pleasure of copperplate formal handwriting early
on, as it was mandatory in France. With the famous Sergent Major Quill
pen, we exercised for hours to create the best handwriting, with purple
ink. One of my teacher, an excellent one, was called Misses Willegha. I
think she played a major part in my calligraphic carrier. The least I
could do was to put into a font what she has taught me.

@robasques

I have
been asked several times in newsgroups and seen many questions
pertaining to the origins of the "@", currently pronounced "at" in
English, and called "arobas", "arobace" or "arobasque" in French. The
later seggusts an Arabian origin, maybe the influence of the Arabian
culture over Spain. In Andalousia, many people are called "Aroba", by
the way.
Whatever
the origin of the arabesque around the a, undoubtfully related to the
use of the quill, and seen over many other characters in 18th century
writing exercises, it means today "something that has to do with
Internet". From the IMac to IBM's e-Business, there is so many examples
where one could use an arabesque around a letter. Any good calligrapher
can do so in a second or two, but it can quite tricky for others. So I
devised this font, for all of you who need to write any character
surrounded like the famous "@". Uppercase have an arabesque, lowercase
are classic italics. So it is easy to compose messages and logos like
"@robasques".
GrandBes

GrandBes
is a serif font, but with very small serif. Inspired more or less by
the work of the Art Nouveau, it has "floral" curves, and hairline
strokes within uppercase, and lowercase f and t. This very legible
calligraphic text face is light and easy to read, while flowing nicely
in text blocks, like a regular serif font. It can also be used
succesfully for setting titles, especially in bold faces.

Skryptaag

I created
Skryptaag after repeated requests from frustrated former Windows 3.1
users who could not find for Windows 95/98 the same kind of script font
they were used to have. This cursive handwriting is somewhat too formal
to be taken for real handwritting, and yet casual enough to be
reminiscent of longhand.

Flandre : "Gothife Monnikke Letteren" with
lowercase

The
"Gothife Monnikke Letteren" is a writing style used during the Middle
Ages mainly in The Netherlands, as we call that region today. At the
time, there seems to have been no lowercase in use, so I created them.
Small caps using this kind of lettering are extremely difficult to
decipher, and original manuscripts, although splendid, are close to
unreadable to contemporary eyes. I hope this revival, or rather,
revisited version of this kind of blackletter will please the eye of
modern readers.
Chancellerie Moderne

Chancellerie
Moderne is a nice formal writing, akin in some fashion to the
traditional Black Chancery font, but with less ornamented lines, which
makes it more legible. As such, it can also be used a s very nice Swash
font for initials, and mixed with some italic fonts.

Oncial

Oncial is
the French name for Uncial, the typical script that was used by Middle
Age copyists all over Europe. This kind of script was used not only for
recording scriptures, but also to record weddings and birth. Amazingly
enough, a late variation of that script, la Ronde, was still in
use in France for official record business until right after World War
II.

Square
Text - This type of Black Letter (sometimes refered to as Old English)
was used in Germany during the 17th Century. It has been adapted, and
redrawn, from original calligraphy. This very nice "neo Gothic" style
is still very legible, and can be used in documents where other, more
ornate Gothic lettering, would be less easy to read.
